South Sea Cruises Group Textile Design
Client: South Sea Cruises Group (SSCG)
Role: Textile & Uniform Concept Designer
Scope: Custom masi-style print, colourway development, garment mockups
Location: Fiji
Launch: Yasawa Flyer 3 opening ceremony, 2025
The Brief
South Sea Cruises Group wanted a fresh new uniform for their office, sales, and events teams. The existing shirts were plain and uninspiring, and didn’t capture the energy of the brands or the Fijian spirit. The challenge was clear: design a textile that staff would be proud to wear, while weaving together a diverse set of established company logos and motifs into one cohesive, professional pattern.
Design Approach
We looked to masi as the inspiration, using its structured motifs to unify SSCG’s brand family. Each logo was included in its original form, carefully reinterpreted into a repeat pattern. The Sabre logo became a distinctive masi-style band lock-up. The sailboats, palm trees, and turtle motifs were balanced with tapa elements to create harmony. Brand colours anchored the palette, ensuring the design felt both vibrant and professional.

Colourway Exploration
Five colourway options were presented, offering different moods from subtle to bold. SSCG selected two final palettes for production, giving flexibility for daily wear and special event uniforms.
The Result
The new uniforms debuted at the Yasawa Flyer 3 opening ceremony, with staff proudly showcasing the designs across multiple cuts from shirts to dresses. The print is professional, distinctly Fijian, and versatile for trade shows, office wear, and customer-facing roles. It has transformed the SSCG uniform into something both functional and culturally expressive.
